Joss Whedon (born June 23, 1964) is an American writer, director and producer. He wrote and directed Marvel's The Avengers and Avengers: Age of Ultron, and created with his half-brother Jed and his sister-in-law Maurissa Tancharoen the TV series Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. and serves as Executive producer. He co-wrote (with Jed Whedon and Maurissa Tancharoen) and directed the pilot episode.
