Bernie is a hot-dog traveling salesman in East Los Angeles.
Character's evolution
Mike Peterson buys two hot-dogs at Bernie's fast food shop. When an explosion occurs in a nearby building devastating its complete top floor, Peterson orders his son Ace to stay with Bernie and asks Bernie to watch over him. A few minutes later, he comes back to Bernie and gets his son back.
