Mike Peterson's driving license is a document that has been borrowed by Skye. It has been used by S.H.I.E.L.D. to understand why Peterson has been hired for Centipede Project.

This document has been delivered to Michael Peterson by the state of California on August 22, 2008. The document number is 95D84045 (AOS: "Pilot").
Evolution
When Skye tries with no success to convince Mike Peterson to make "public" his super-hero identity, she eventually manage to borrow his driver license.
Later, inside the Bus, when Skye (who has been kidnapped by Coulson's team) see how Peterson has turned mad, she gives the driving license to Agent Phil Coulson. Coulson uses it to retrieve all data about Peterson's life.
