In a restaurant located in Paris, the French man is talking with some guests. When an S.H.I.E.L.D. agent tells Agent Grant Ward that the contact has a red tie, Ward goes to the man and asks him (in French) if he can take his champagne glass from the table. The French man allows him and resume his chat. Ward takes the glass and scans the fingerprints so he can use them to break a fireplace hiding a safe.

  1. Unlike Grant Ward who has an accent when he speaks French, the red-tie-man speaks French fluently with no accent at all. It means that the character is obviously portrayed by a French actor. This concludes to say that the character is actually French.
